Yoke
From a series called Dwellings, these 22 sculptures explore relationships between organic and inorganic forms. In each sculpture, an anthropomorphic body interacts with an architectonic plinth, experimenting with dwelling as a verb. The sculptures are intimate, each fitting within a 6” cube and conforming to a material palette of textured wood and gesso. These constraints inspire creativity: each sculpture conjures a different gesture of relating. One slumps, another nudges, a third frolics.
Pluvialis
This abstract and vivid sentinel is installed at a working farm in Vermont. It is the first sculpture on the property, and it is sited to be seen from the cider mill, fields, and farmhouse. Both the title and the form reference environmental conditions found on this particular farm.
Faceted Landscape Series #10
This wall-hung sculpture is inspired by an undulating, geological landscape. It is the tenth in the series, each of which is unique in form, composition, and surface finish. The complex, faceted surface is meticulously constructed from triangular planes. The collection of geometric shapes - reminiscent of folded, pleated, and creased fabric – is accentuated by the copper leaf finish.
