Ballast In Progress
The form for Ballast was inspired by a series of abstract tent sketches I made while living in India. The initial full size patterns for this piece were mocked up out of Masonite before I cut each metal, faceted panel to fit. I TIG welded the mild steel form, leaving the weld beads as raised lines to further embellish the articulated nature of the form.
